Jakarta - A joint team from the National Police&#39;s International Relations Division, North Sumatra Police and Bali Police arrested the most wanted fugitive in Thailand named Tongduang Chaowalit alias Pang Nardone. It is known that Tongduang is in Indonesia or to be precise in Medan.

Head of Criminal Investigation of the National Police, Commissioner General Pol Wahyu Widada, said that Thai authorities had identified Tongduang as a perpetrator of various crimes, including narcotics. Finally, the person concerned escaped from prison after shooting a member of the police

&quot;Then the person concerned ran away until he was caught in Bali thanks to cooperation between the Thai Police and the National Police,&quot; said Wahyu at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Sunday (2/6/2024).

Furthermore, all data from investigations in the field was immediately submitted to the Bali Police Ditreskrimum team led by Police Commissioner Yanri Paran Simarmata for development. Then the Hubinter team and the Medan team, namely Kombes Pol Sumaryono and AKBP Bayu as Head of Sub-Directorate Jatanras immediately left for Denpasar Bali to join the Bali team.

&quot;From the results of collecting and developing data and information, it was discovered that while he was in Indonesia, the suspect had tried to hide his identity by creating a fake identity with an ID card in the name of Sulaiman, a resident of Simpang Hamlet, Paya Naden District, Madat District, East Aceh,&quot; he said.

To facilitate his disguise, the suspect tried not to talk to people he met because the suspect could not speak Indonesian or English.

&quot;To communicate, the suspect used the Google Translate application to buy daily necessities, transport and others,&quot; he said.

Wahyu added, by using this fake identity, the suspect was able to buy plane tickets via an online application to move cities, and in every city he stopped at, the suspect always changed residences, both hotels and apartments.

On May 28 2024 at 17.15 WIB the joint team arrested a woman named SA who was the suspect&#39;s female friend. Information was obtained from SA that the suspect had fled to Denpasar, Bali.

On Thursday, May 30 2024, from the results of checking the ETLE camera in the Bali Police Command Center room and analyzing the necessary data, it was discovered that the whereabouts of the suspect were at the Bali Twin Apartments.

In depth investigation in the field, it was confirmed that the suspect was in room number 5 of the Twin Apartments. The team then arrested the suspect.

Based on the results of a search of the suspect in his room, one Family Card was found in Sulaiman&#39;s name, one Birth Certificate in Sulaiman&#39;s name, and one BCA bank account book in Sulaiman&#39;s name.

Furthermore, on Friday, May 31 2024, a joint team from the Ditreskrimum Polda North Sumatra, Divhubinter Polri and Ditreskrimum Polda Bali escorted the suspect from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali to Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta.
